Discovery Lab is a great place to improve your skills and learn new ones.

Each Discovery Lab is equipped with new Dell Computers with all the programs you'll need to improve basic skills, prepare for the new GED 2002 and ISTEP, prepare for college entrance exams, study required prerequisites for college and fill in skill gaps in subject areas where you are having difficulty. The curriculum we will be using is Plato Pathways which includes subject areas from pre-reading to the second year of college in a highly interactive and fun program. These lessons include real world examples so you can apply what you've learned.

Discovery Lab Training

For clients who need to learn or upgrade computer and keyboarding skills, the Discovery Lab includes Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing and Video Professor with Windows 98 and Office 2000. While some people may only need basic computer skills for school work, some need to update their software skills and others, enrolled in computer or clerical classes, need a place to study. The Discovery lab can meet all their needs in a non-threatening, non-graded, fun environment.

The Discovery Lab is not just computers. You will be guided by certified teachers and experienced instructors in group activities and discussions designed to help you apply what you have learned. More traditional learning materials available include practice tests, take home handouts, scientific calculators, and reference books to provide a complete learning experience.
