The Gary One-Stop is a full service Work One Center providing unemployment compensation, work registration, counseling, information resources, assessment, training, GED classes, childcare and job placement through Workforce Development Services, The Indiana Division of Workforce Development,Veterans' Assistance, Educational Talent Search, Step Ahead, the Futures Program, 21st Century Scholars and more...The Information Resource Area offers customer self-service access to information on schools, jobs, careers, labor market, social services, transpotation information, news papers and internet access for education and job search assistance are available on a walk-in basis during regular business hours. For one-on-one career and readjustment counselling or resume and cover letter assistance, call or drop by to make an appointment. (219) 981-1520. Ask for the IRA.

Unemployment Insurance Applications and Work Registration are handled on a walk-in basis.

The Discovery Lab is available without an appointment. Here, you can work on your educational skills, assess your skills, learn to type or use a computer. You can also register for more in-depth classes on a regular schedule.

To learn more about Employment and Training Assistance you can attend a 45 minute orientation session held Mondays and Wednesdays at 9:45 am and 3:15 pm. Here, you can learn more about assessment, workshops, counseling and training.
