The Hammond One-Stop is a full service Work One Center providing unemployment compensation, work registration, counseling, information resources, assessment, training, GED classes, childcare and job placement through Workforce Development Services, The Indiana Division of Workforce Development and Veterans' Assistance. The Hammond WorkOne Center also partners with The Hammond Area Career Center, School city of Hammond, Hammond Redevelopment Commision, Hammond Housing Authority, Job Corp and AARP to provide services to the Community.The Information Resource Area offers customer self-service access to information on schools, jobs, careers, labor market, social services, transpotation information, news papers and internet access for education and job search assistance are available on a walk-in basis during regular business hours. You may also get counselling, resume and cover letter writing assistance on a walk-in basis between 8:00 and 4:30.

Unemployment Insurance Applications and Work Registration are handled on a walk-in basis between 8:00 and 4:30.

The Discovery Lab is available without an appointment between 1:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Here, you can work on your educational skills, assess your skills, learn to type or use a computer. You can also register for more in-depth classes which are conducted in the mornings.

To learn more about Employment and Training Assistance you can attend a 45 minute orientation session held Mondays and Wednesdays at 8:45 a.m. and 2:15 p.m.. Here, you can learn more about assessment, workshops, counseling and training.
